چکیده
The E. coli inactivation using hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and cobalt ferrite granulated catalyst was investigated in a fixed-bed flow reactor. CoFe2O4 synthesized by the co-precipitation method, granulated, annealed at 1150°C. X-ray diffraction analysis used to identify crystal structure of catalyst. demonstrates good catalytic activity for bacteria presence H2O2. Cobalt ferrite nanocrystals: out-performing magnetotactic bacteria.
Magnetotactic bacteria produce exquisitely ordered chains of uniform magnetite (Fe(3)O(4)) nanocrystals, and the use of the bacterial mms6 protein allows for the shape-selective synthesis of Fe(3)O(4) nanocrystals. Cobalt ferrite (CoFe(2)O(4)) nanoparticles, on the other hand, are not known to occur in living organisms. Here we report on the use of the recombinant mms6 protein in a templated sy...
متن کاملCrystalization in Spinel Ferrite Nanoparticles
The enhanced interest of the researchers in nanoobjects is due to the discovery of unusual physical and chemical properties of these objects, which is related to manifestation of so-called ‘quantum size effects‘. These arise in the case where the size of the system is commensurable with the de-Brogli wavelengths of the electrons, phonons or excitons propagating in them.A key reason for the chan...
متن کاملAntibacterial properties of spinel ferrite nanoparticles
This book chapter is organized into four major parts. Firstly, it will cover an introduction of using spinel ferrite nanoparticles in biomedical applications, including the antibacterial properties. The second part will provide an overview of the structure and magnetism of spinel ferrites. The third part will focus on the preparation of cobalt ferrite and transition metal substituted cobalt fer...
متن کاملApplication of spinel-type cobalt chromite as a novel catalyst for combustion of chlorinated organic pollutants.
Various chromium-containing catalysts were tested for the total oxidation of trichloroethylene (TCE) as a model reaction for the catalytic combustion of chlorinated organic pollutants. A spinel-type cobalt chromite (CoCr2O4) among others was proven to be a very promising catalyst showing higher activity and higher CO2 selectivity than traditional alumina supported chromia. Even if both Cr3+ and...
متن کاملR-Ferrite-type barium cobalt stannate, BaCo2Sn4O11
BaCo(2)Sn(4)O(11) is isotypic with R-ferrite, BaTi(2)Fe(4)O(11). The Co atoms fully occupy trigonal-bipyramidal sites () and are disordered with Sn atoms in octa-hedral sites (.2/m symmetry), as represented in the formula BaCoSn(2)(Co(0.34)Sn(0.66))(4)O(11). Ba atoms are situated in a 12-fold coordinated site ( symmetry).
